It publishes texts (studies, debates, conference reports, reviews, etc.) mainly on topics regarding Hungarians living in Slovakia.<\/p><p>The Author is required to keep in touch with the Editor, Barnab\u00e1s Vajda; e-mail: vajdabb@gmail.com.<\/p><p>Regarding studies, a proper level of written English language is obligatory for the Author. F\u00f3rum Social Sciences Review does not provide English translation, nevertheless it takes care of English proofreading. The Editor and the English language proofreader make corrections in the manuscript only in the most necessary extent. A manuscript that does not meet sufficient linguistic criterias, can be rejected by the Editor, regardless to its content.<\/p><p>The content of studies will undergo external peer review. The Author will be notified about the result of the review process: publish &#8211; publish after revision by the Author &#8211; reject.<\/p><h2>Format and technical requirements<\/h2><p>Manuscripts should be sent to the Editor\u2019s e-mail address in editable electronic format. Texts should be in Word format, charts in Excel, pictures and photos as .jpg. The Author should hand in a plain text (in technical terms) as simple as possible, with a minimum of formatting. It means that the Author should avoid complicated formatting solutions, or full-capital-letter names, or special types of letters, etc.<\/p><p>The deadline for sending in manuscripts is May 31.<\/p><p>Simultaneously with the Manuscript, the Author is obliged to send in an Author\u2019s Personal Sheet, inlc. Author\u2019s name, occupation, etc. as he\/she wishes to publish them (see below).<\/p><h2>Formal requirements for studies<\/h2><p>Required standard typology:<\/p><ul><li>Times New Roman 12;<\/li><li>line spacing: 1,0;<\/li><li>text aligned left.<\/li><\/ul><p>For footnotes:<\/p><ul><li>TNR 10;<\/li><li>line spacing 1,0.<\/li><\/ul><p>Studies have to contain the following items \u2013 in the following order:<\/p><ul><li>Author\u2019s name (first name, family name):<\/li><li>Title of the study:<\/li><li>Abstract in English which expresses the brief summary of the study:<\/li><li>English Keywords: 4 to 8; words separated from each other with semicolon; no full stop at the end.<\/li><li>*, ** Other information that the Author wishes to publish, such as identification of a project, Orcid-ID, WoS-ID: E.g. [fedinec@tk.hu; ORCID: 0000-0002-9156-9002]<\/li><\/ul><p>The structure of the text is marked with chapter titles, such as Introduction, Conclusions, etc. Chapter titles can be marked with numbers too (e.g. 1., 1.1., 1.1.1.).<\/p><p>As a general rule while quoting, use this orthography: \u2026as Kant says \u201c\u2026\u2026\u201d<\/p><h2>Reference to Literature<\/h2><p>Bibliographical references (both direct citations as well as paraphrases) are written as intertextual references, i.e. a short-version bibliographical reference is inserted right into the main text in a bracket. The full-version of the bibliographical reference is listed at the end of the study in the Literature.<\/p><p>Example: (Huizinga 1976) or (Huizinga 1976: 115) or (Huizinga 1976: 14 -25). 1) or (see more in Simon 2014).<\/p><p>Listing a literature, both explicitly cited and\/or implicitly applied, is optional for the Author, in the <b>Literature, Online sources\/resources <\/b>(no:)\u00a0chapter at the end of the study, in alphabetical order.<\/p><p>Reference to books, monographs:<\/p><ol><li>Authors\u2019s full name (family name [comma], first name)<\/li><li>and year of publication (No date, N.d.)<\/li><li>Full title of the book or monograph <i>(in Italic)<\/i>.<\/li><li>Place of publication,<\/li><li>and name of the publishing house.<\/li><\/ol><p>Example: Huizinga, Johan 1976. A k\u00f6z\u00e9pkor alkonya. Budapest, Eur\u00f3pa.<\/p><p>If the Hungarian title is translated, then: Huizinga, Johan 1976. Egy korszak v\u00e9ge (The End of an Epoch). Budapest, Eur\u00f3pa.<\/p><p>Reference to studies or other texts published in collective works:<\/p><ol><li>Authors\u2019s full name (family name [comma], first name)<\/li><li>and year of publication.<\/li><li>Full title of the study or other text.<\/li><li>In:<\/li><li>Name of editor of the collective work (family name [comma], first name)<\/li><li>(szerk.) or (ed.) or (eds.):<\/li><li>Full title of the collective work <i>(in Italic)<\/i>.<\/li><li>Place of publication,<\/li><li>name of publishing house,<\/li><li>and page range (17\u201319).<\/li><\/ol><p>Example: Hajnal, Istv\u00e1n 1986. Budapest, Magvet\u0151, 624\u2013645.<\/p><p>Reference to journals, magazines:<\/p><ol><li>Authors\u2019s full name (family name [comma], first name)<\/li><li>and year of publication.<\/li><li>Title of the text.<\/li><li>Title of the journal or magazine (in Italic),<\/li><li>Volume,<\/li><li>Issue number,<\/li><li>and page range (17\u201319).<\/li><\/ol><p>Example: Pa\u0161iakov\u00e1, Jaroslava 1992. Kass\u00e1k \u00e9s a Bauhaus. Irodalmi Szemle, 35. \u00e9vf. 7. sz. 692.<\/p><h2>Footnotes<\/h2><p>Archival and press sources are referred to in a form of footnotes. It means that in the text a numbered upper index (\u2018Insert footnotes\u2019) refers to the detailed footnote text elaborated at the bottom of the same page.<\/p><p>Example: Slovensk\u00fd n\u00e1rodn\u00fd arch\u00edv v Bratislave (SNA v BA), fond Ministerstvo \u0161kolstva a n\u00e1rodnej osvety (M\u0160aNO), 1939-1945, kart\u00f3n (k.) 52., dokumentu Nariadenie ministerstva \u0161kolstva zo d\u0148a 12.4.1941.<\/p><p>As a general rule while referring to a press source, use Hungarian orthography: Pr\u00e1gai Magyar H\u00edrlap, 1935. j\u00fanius 5., 6. old. Or: The Observer, 1935. 5. 17, 1935, 27-29.<\/p><p>Online references are referred to in a form of footnotes (\u2018Insert footnotes\u2019). (no bracket)<\/p><h2>Pictures and charts<\/h2><p>Each <strong>Table, Figure, Chart, Photo, Map<\/strong> should be given a title. The place of tables, charts and photos should be clearly marked in the text, but they must NOT be inserted into the text.
