Katalin Hoboth: Research of Language for Specific Purposes in Slovakia: Past and Present
The aim of this paper is to give a short summary of recent specific language research works on registers of the standard Hungarian language variations used in Slovakia. Besides explaining the meaning of the special language and presenting the first researches, the study deals with the problems of the Hungarian language use for specific purposes in Slovakia. It characterizes the first researches focusing on the use of specific terms and difficulties with their translation. The paper makes some evaluating investigation into periodicals and textbooks. It also gives a picture of a sociolinguistic presentation on the language use by some users of the specific-purpose language. The last part of the presentation is devoted to the issue of specific language planning and the ongoing researches.
