László A. Szabó The issues of ethnic education in Slovakia in light of the contradictions of the public education law and the language use law

Ethnic education is a complex, multi-player process, the resolution of its issues is a function of many components. In part it depends on the communities, their needs and approach, their national and international relationships, and in part it also depends on the state-provided system of conditions, which have legal, financial, institutional, professional factors. The issues described in the study are mostly legal in nature. Obviously, it appears to be that the principal conditions for an effective ethnic education lay in the establishment of a secure legal background and an appropriate institutional structure, due to which the kindergartens and schools of the ethnic representatives can carry out their effective work with the active support of professional organizations.
