The author in his study states that the Hungarian literature in Slovakia at the beginning of the 1980’s lyre was the most, and drama was the less developed genre, and between the two was the prose, within which novels and short story literature in many cases touched the level of the lyre. Consequently, the author analyses the prose of the fifties, sixties and seventies. He also states that at the beginning of the fifties the prose was formally out of date and schematic, and began to develop only in the following decade: from the point of view of formality and attitude it was able to renew, firstly thanks to the development of novel-writing.
